help me find 308 full copper jacket ball ammo

I have stocked up in winchester brand 308 ammo which I will use at an outdoor range, but for the mean time, I wanted to tweak my rifle and do a little break in at an indoor range.

The only problem I can't find ammo in stock that is full copper jacket on lead core. winchester is copper clad steel, which the range people don't want me using.

I looked for american eagle but can't find any in stock, any other good brands out there that fit my criteria? about 150 grain is what I am looking for

I think Winchester must have switched to the soft steel jacket over the last few years when copper prices went up...along with others I would imagine.

I really don't know of anything available at the moment...keep looking.

What exactly do you mean by the statement : " the range people dont want me using"
are they performing magnetic inspection on individual cartridges?

Many ranges no longer allow anything with steel core, steel penetrator, or "bi-metal" bullets like Russian, Wolf, Silver Bear, Brown Bear, etc. .223, x39, 308, 54R, Nato M855 or SS109..and now even the Winchester 308...

Yes, they check with a magnet on one bullet for each box you bring in. If there the same brand they will only check one. I found this place online that is selling american eagles, will see when it arrives if it's full copper. I believe it is.

Are you serious, they actually go through and literally inspect your shit?

You show them the ammo you are going to use, they don't go through your bag or anything like that. Someone had used steel core and it damage their backstop, now they are all paranoid.

Especially indoor ranges that used to allow .223, x39, 5.45 rifles. I was told that type (bi-metal) overpenetrates their backstops and can potentially cause fires if bullets ricochet off walls and floors.

Some outdoor ranges (in dry weather conditions) also forbid the use of steel containing bullets, for fear of sparks (steel against rocks downrange) starting a brush fire. Same with tracer rounds.
